Fly me home - helping young homeless fly to a brighter future

Sign our flying petition and help empower young people out of homelessness

Film It, a national charity for the creative arts, are working with a group of young homeless people to make, build and fly a hot air balloon.

We aim to cover the balloon in 30,000 signatures and messages of support to raise awareness of the ‘hidden homeless’.

Close to 300,000 young people are living in hostels, B&Bs and temporary accommodation. Being vulnerably housed affects health, education and security and it’s a growing problem.

Want to get involved?

  • Look out for events in your area where you can physically sign and message the Fly Me Home balloon to show your support.
  • Sign and donate online on our doodle page here.
  • Contact us and we will send you information and cards to sign and send back to us. The young people will read and print your messages onto the balloon.
  • The balloon’s inaugural flight will be across London in May 2009, so keep checking back for updates and look out for news on the TV documentary about the project to be broadcast next year...
